High Quality Plan Sets for Radio Control Aircraft
Henry Struck's 1937 Benny Boxcar

The battery fits in the right side compartment.  The speed control is a Thunderbird 54 amp unit.  It is restrained with a tie wrap on the wires.  All of the motor
mount parts are notched and keyed for easy and accurate alignment.  The downthrust seems to be appropriate. The motor is a 480 size Suppo BL 2814-8.

Tie wrap and cooling hole.  Ply brackets are to mount the fiberglass cowl.

The buck for forming the cowl.  I used two layers of  medium weight cloth and Isophthalic resin to make the cowl.  You can see the cross grain
templates that are embedded in the buck.  These are on the plan on a separate 11 X 17 sheet.  Sand down to the templates and fair the balsa
blocking to them.  There is a layer of glass cloth and resin on the buck.   I split the cowl down the middle of the bottom to get it off the buck.
