Commando
Starting
the joining of the fuselage sides. See how the
fuselage is
up side down and the forward section is flat on the building board.
The top longeron
sticks
forward and is pinned in place to keep alignment. There is a
clothespin clamp holding the tail end together at this point., with
pins
holding
it over the centerline, and the two triangles in front also
keep
the sides accurately located over the plan. All the forward
crossmembers
and
the firewall are
added at this point. After that the fuselage will
be turned
over on the plan so it rests on the flat lower longerons and all the
remamining
crossmembers
are installed, using the triangles as necessary to keep alignment over
the centerline. Don't forget the tail skid mount bulkhead.
Installing
the landing gear. As you can see I did it before
adding the
rear crossmembers but it is easier if you do it after all the
crossmembers are installed.
How

installed. I used a bamboo dowel here but I often use carbon
fiber tube.
