High Quality Plan Sets for Radio Control Aircraft
Chester Chaplaskie's Thunder Bird 45

Only one Robart hinge point was used on the rudder, the lower pivot is a screw.  Kevlar string was used on the rudder, with the end connection made
with a loop in the Kevlar. The knot is multiple square knots secured with a small drop of thin CA.  Wick off the extra quickly with a paper towel so it
does not run down the Kevlar and stiifen it.  That can make a weak point where the stiff part meets the flexible part.  The final connection was with small
beading wire looped through twice and twisted.  The loops were installed with the radio operating and the servo arms held in neutral.  The loops were
tightened evenly keeping the surface centered.  When tension and centering looked good another loop of wire was put on each side for
redundancy.  The elevator pushrod end method is one I stole from a Peerless Panther I saw many years ago.  The hole in the covering
for the rudder cable was made with a soldering iron, that melts a strong perimeter on the hole stopping tears.

Wing centerbolt installation.  This is not on the plan.

Radio installation.

APC 8-6 propeller.  An 8-8 may be a better choice for longer engine runs.  Next on the agenda.
It has been running 5 1/2 minutes with the 8-6 and getting very high.
