ANT-25
The
flying surfaces were all-metal, using corrugated skinning as Junkers
aircraft did, as Junkers had a major influence on Russian aircraft
designers of the time. The surfaces were covered
with
dope and fabric after it was found that drag was far higher than
thought previously due to slight sideslips creating drag across the
corrugated surfaces, reducing range by 40% or more.
