The side gun was fit to the nose part using the nose clear part temporarily in place to get the proper fit.  Note that the nose gun is not at the same angle as the ammunition box. 
It took a few tries for me to get this right.  Also, there is no mention of the right side wall in the instructions, but I fit it in behind the gun and its parts after removing the
lower forward half of the side panel.
