Lots of masking on this scheme.  It was Commander Fuchida Mitsuo's airplane, the tail was red so it could be identified.   He was the Commander of the first wave attack at Pearl harbor
from the Akagi, and delivered the Tora! Tora! Tora! message.   Mitsuo survived the war, including almost being in Hiroshima the day the Enola Gay dropped the atomic bomb only
by being called to a meeting that day in Yamato, 500 miles distant.  He became a Christion evangelist in later years.
