Roden
1/72 C-123B
This is the first time I have successfully used Roden kit
decals. They did not react to any of my decal solutions so I
used a Top Flight heat gun normally used to shrink mylar film on my
R/C models. That worked to get them to draw
down into the panel lines but it was nerve racking to do it, and the
decals still adhere very poorly. Most of the time I don't use a
clear coat on natural metal airplanes, but to keep the decals on
Alclad Matt Clear was
applied, which gives the aluminum an oxidized look which seems
appropriate for a hard working C-123. There are a lot of little
pieces to put on when the model is done with painting and decaling
and very careful handling will always be in order.
