to the finished model. It wasn't quite that fast. All of
the aircraft specific markings were drawn in Corel Draw based on
research by Ron Easley, crew chief on 57-427 which is in the collection
of the Aerospace Museum of California at McClellan airport in
Sacramento. These are the markings the airplane carried in March
1965 when assigned to the 2nd FIS, 52nd FG at Suffolk County Airport,
New York. The base in these photos was built for me by James
Steel in about 1997. The engine cart and B-4 stand were
finished by James and are from the Revell F-102 kit from the 50's, a
very rare and expensive collector kit. The decals were printed
on an ALPS MD-1000, although the light blue portions of the fuselage
flashes were overpainted with enamel, as that is a color the ALPS does
poorly, at least the way I use it.
