Junkers G38
Revell 1/144 modified to D-2500 configuration
The wing passenger windows do not fit well, leaving a step where the
window aft edge fairs into the wing, and the window wide, as there
should be more space
between the window
framing and the engine nacelle. If I do another of these I would
use the kit parts for a buck to make a vacform replacement and paint the
window framing in
the proper place. I removed the middle posts and replaced all of
the side windows with clear sheet styrene because of sink marks on
the kit
parts. There is a lot
of masking to do on this airplane. The windows on the engine
nacelles were sanded smooth and painted nacelle color, and D-2500 did
not
have them. I still have to make some overwing exhausts for the nacelles (someday). The lower exhausts for the Jumo diesels were removed.
