Junkers G38
Revell 1/144 modified to D-2500 configuration
A
lot of work is needed to reduce silvering of decals on models with
corrugated surfaces. I applied the ALPS decals without any
overcoats prior to
applying
them, and used a flood of Micro Sol to settle them. I also used
water and Micro Sol to wet the surfaces before applying the decals.
Once the decals
had
settled some I cut away all unnecessary clear film, including the
interior of the numbers on the wing registrations. Finally, I
perforated all of the decals
mercilessly with the point of a very new exacto blade and applied more
Micro Sol. I made two complete sets of decals and used almost all of them in the process.
Last, I touched up a few areas with paint. Uncoated ALPS
decals scratch when you look at them wrong, but they are very thin and
flexible.
