The
Special Hobby 1/48 Martin 167 Maryland
The cowls are
made up of two sides, a nose ring, and two plates that form the
inside of the scoops. Fit was good, however to get them to fit on
the nacelles a little trimming and tapering was needed
on the duct
plates. There is no definite fit for the cowls to the nacelles
except for the aft end of the air ducts so some planning is needed
there. Don't leave any extra pour block on
the back of the
engines. I drilled out the engines for music wire prop
shafts. The engine cyliners had to be sanded down on top to fit
the cowls which was done carefully as almost
all the material
down to the pushrod ends had to go before they fit far enough forward
so the nose case was positioned properly. I probably should have
added ignition rings and wires but got lazy.
