How to Rent the Gibson House Park
We are so glad to have you here
Celebrate your special event in a Victorian setting on the beautiful park-like grounds of
the historic Gibson House
The Park
The Victorian Gibson House and Museum Park has perennial flower gardens, green lawns, trees,
and is partially shaded by a 250 year old Valley Oak.
Reservations & deposit
A $200 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a date
Rental fee
The rental fee of $500 must be paid two weeks before the event date.
Insurance
Before the event, you must have a certificate of one-day liability insurance. Coverage may
be purchased through a homeowner’s policy or YC PARMIA, 77 West Lincoln Avenue,
Woodland, CA 95695, tel: 530-666-4456. $500,000 Coverage is needed if no alcohol is
served, or $1,000,000 if alcohol is served. If alcohol is served you must also have a permit
from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC). Proof of insurance coverage
and a copy of the ABC license must be presented to the museum in writing 1 week prior to
the event. If no alcohol is to be served please state so in writing for the Museum files.
Sound systems
No amplified music or public address system is allowed. Out of courtesy to our neighbors,
music must be played softly and must end at 9:00 PM.
Facilities
- The Park is available to rent, not the museum mansion.
- Raised cement patio suitable for dining, dancing or as a stage.
- Brick patio and lawn area suitable for seating and dining.
- Olive orchard also suitable for dining
- On site parking for 30 cars. The driveways are fire lanes and must be kept open.
- Electrical outlets and water faucets.
- 1 chemical toilet
- 10 metal picnic tables with attached benches (29” x 90”), each seat 10.
- Park benches on the shaded patio
Regarding Decorations
- All decorations should be self-contained and removed after the ceremony.
- Attached decorations to the house using only tape or string. No nails, tacks, staples
and pins, please.
