Sgt. Dave Ingman, Officer Michelle Korkowski, Officer Tom Echols and Officer Josh Simon were awarded
the Departments most prestigious honor, The Medal of Valor, for their courageous acts while on duty.
Officer Echols has received this award twice.
Officer Korkowski also received the California Police Officers' Association Award of Valor at an award
luncheon in Redondo Beach for unselfish acts in 2000.

CSO Ken Yamamoto was named employee of the year for 2000. He has been with the department for seven years,
spending two years in Records Division and is now the training coordinator, CLETS terminal coordinator and
First Aid instructor. He has been responsible for allowing the Department to maximize state reimbursements
for certified training.

Brian Meux earned the Officer of the Year award for the year 2000. He has served as part of the Patrol Division,
and was instrumental in developing the Problem Oriented Policing Team. Officer Meux has been a member of several
of the Departments automation projects and is responsible for planning the first DUI checkpoint in Woodland. As
part of the POP team he has helped in addressing the transient issues as well as visual blight related to abandoned
shopping carts.

The "10851" award is jointly sponsored by the California Highway Patrol and the California State Automobile Association.
Officers are recognized for their efforts in deterring and minimizing vehicle theft. Officers who meet a specific criteria
are awarded pins that they may wear on their uniform.
Four officers met the qualifications for the pin in the year 2000:
