Police Officer Tamara Pelle graduated from the Napa Police Academy and was sworn in on 9/12/06 filling an existing vacancy.

Police Officer Greg Ford was selected as the full time DARE officer, and he began preparing for the 2006/2007 school year.  During this school year, 36 fifth grade classes will receive the ten-week DARE curriculum.  This aggressive teaching schedule will reach every fifth grade student in the entire Woodland Joint Unified School District.

"Shop With a Cop" is a  program for underprivileged kids in our community.  The Woodland Police Department, In partnership with Wal-Mart, sponsors 30 underprivileged kids with a $100.00 shopping spree for each kid. 

The Woodland Police Department’s two new motorcycles hit the streets recently, making the department the first in Northern California to use Hondas.  Prior to the motorcycles coming to Woodland, only four other agencies, all in Southern California, were using the Honda ST1300-P police bikes.
