We are basically going to
run you through the standard assembly process (as I would do it)
following (basically) the instructions. Oh, no we’re not going to follow the instructions, are we? Yes. While
that is a radical shift away from the normal way we all like to build, in this case, since
it’s my project, I choose to use the instructions. As I said, basically.
Like it always says in those
pesky instructions, check out the parts. I know we all can’t wait to
see how well something has been molded, but this time look at the parts
as if you had to figure out how to actually put them together without any
instructions. You will find that you have a new perspective on the assembly
process. And assembly will suddenly seem to be a bit easier. Trust me, it’s
not a wasted step.
The next time we get together, we will start to see how I personally go about building the SBD-1. Since this kit requires a
little more paint and finishing than the average three-tone plane, I’m going to be
doing a lot of prepainting.
