Almost all of the panel line detail was removed. Being close to Beale Air Force Base I have seen many U-2's and TR-1's up close and in the air, some up close and
in the air at the same time, and such lines are not apparent to me. I painted the inlet interior with RLM 66 except for the bit at the front, which is the same blue/black
mixture I used for the exterior. I have read that some think early CIA U-2's might have been dark sea blue. Later Air Force U-2's were flat black.
